How is the program delivered?

The Confident Kids and Teens Program is delivered across 3 age-appropriate levels:-

  • Level 1: 5 - 8yrs
  • Level 2: 9 -11yrs
  • Level 3: 11+ yrs

Sessions involves fun, interactive activities tailored to each specific age group such as role plays, music, stories, puppets, puzzles and group discussion.

Each session consists of three parts:-

  1. Review of the previous week and home practice activities.
  2. Games/Activities that promote each week's learning objective.
  3. Mindful Awareness practice.

These activities are designed to help children become more aware of what is happening inside of them (thoughts, feelings, emotions and physical sensations) and outside of them (the classroom, playground, at home and in the world around them).

Sessions are designed to be interesting and enjoyable for kids/teens but also to challenge them. Each session includes lots of fun activities such as role play to practice new skills, group circle time, music, games and activity sheets. There is frequent praise and helpful feedback from the facilitator and other group members about each child's behavior.

The skills taught in each session are applied to issues that children and teens deal with on a daily basis. Issues such as anxiety or worry about exams and assignments, bullying or rejection, dealing with parental or peer pressure, competition, decision making about future careers, balancing homework, extra curricular activities, part-time work, relationships, socialising, sport, or overcoming disappointment with exam results.
